Our Story

ToTheTower Labs exists for one reason: to build software that treats your data the way you'd expect it to be treated. Every product is designed with encryption and privacy at the core, not bolted on as an afterthought.

The reality is that most companies are moving in the opposite direction. Major platforms collect more data than they need, bury the details in pages of legalese, and quietly roll back protections when it suits them. Some of the largest social platforms have even rolled back end-to-end encryption in their messaging products, choosing convenience for their advertising models over security for their users. And with the rise of AI, the incentive to harvest your data has only grown. Companies are racing to integrate AI features into their products, and your personal data is the training material. Across the industry, encryption and privacy are treated as obstacles to revenue rather than rights worth defending.

ToTheTower Labs was founded to push back against that trend. The software you use should protect your data by default, with encryption you don't have to think about and privacy policies you can actually read. That's the standard every product here is built to meet.

That standard is already shipping. DocuScanr, our private document scanner for Android, encrypts every scan on your device with no account and no cloud upload. Imgport, our batch image converter, goes further: it ships without network permission, so your photos cannot leave your phone.
